Traditional Balinese Paintings is not separate from their culture and life perspective. Throughout the history of traditional art in Bali, the subject matter often centres on daily activities, spiritual and flora and fauna. At the centre of Balinese culture is one’s relationship to Nature and Worship, all of which are at the core of Adat. Therefore, the Balinese societal structure emanates from this core belief system. Before there was ever any monetary value given to a painting, artists have created these scenes for hundreds of years. Perhaps this is done, as a way of expressing their love and worship to the Creator, the Ultimate Creative Origin.
