There was a distinct change to the typical compositional style applied by the traditional artists of Pengosekan during the 70’s – 80’s. Brought by the influences of foreign artists there at the time. They have close interactions with the community of Pengosekan, which opens dialogue on the differences in their art techniques. During one of these discussions, there was a suggestion to move closer to the painting’s main subject and present a closer view of nature. This was how the Flora Fauna Style of Pengosekan began. A place in Ubud whose reputation is well established as painters and in Gamelan music.
