Exhibited as part of a set of five wayangs in Wayang Manus in Manus, a Conscious Journey. A collaborative exhibition at Sudakara Artspace, Sanur, Bali in December 2023.

Wayang refers to a Javanese and Balinese shadow puppet play. Definition noun: wayang kulit; plural noun: wayang kulits. The Manus Wayang Tih White Shadow Puppet is a set of contemporary Wayang shadow puppets. They are part of a conceptual art film installation exploring the contemporary human being.

Dibal Ranuh responds to the collaborative question ‘What makes us human?’ by the creation of this set of 5 Wayangs. In collaboration with artist Tjandra Hutama for Manus a Conscious Journey. The Blue Wayang is present as part of a set of five colours inspired by the concept of the CMYK colour system and its white canvas, presenting different elements present in a human identity.

White: Buana Alit (self-purification…, from all sins.. money is the challenge… You have to be self-aware. The process of awareness, everything starts from white. Before being drawn, it can be a picture of something ugly or beautiful etc., depending on the artist (man) ~ Dibal Ranuh
