‘This is the eye inside Culmination. The calm we experience in the opening performance. We then enter the room and the eye is in the centre, seeing everything. Everything that is occurring inside the room. “Do they feel culmination?” In essence, the eye sees Truth’ ~ AKL

This philosophical wire sculpture was created for a special narrative. Exhibited in Culmination, a Sawidji Visual Art Exhibition in collaboration with the prestigious Santrian Art Gallery, Bali. A group exhibition that features works by artists who wish to share a positive message toward social transformation and community consciousness. Culmination Calm In Nation. The Eye proceeded an opening performance featuring another wire mask by Agus Kama Loedin. The first mask ‘Culmination’ epitomises the harmonious merging of artistic elements, in true Dadaist spirit. Sound, movement, word and visual form to embody this message of harmony. The Eye is the second sculpture that greets us in the gallery room. Nestled in the centre, greeting and seeing all those that enter. The Eye is our conscience and higher consciousness.

Philosophical Wire Art

Made of Agus Kama Loedin’s intricate wire weaving, employing contemporary materials (coloured aluminium and copper wires) in shaping tribal and traditional forms. The inverted approach between material and object is a sharp paradoxical statement. A reminder of the structure of human identity. Wherein lies our connection to inherent roots. Our heritage. Regardless of form, tangible materials are only vessels, that carry a far deeper spiritual consciousness. At the skeletal, armature of our being, we share a universal and ancient memory of our collective evolution. The Eye brings us back to this omniscient knowing. It is a reminder that our self-honesty is the seed of all positive beginnings.
