Description

Kerang Kembar Siam, Agus Kama Loedin

Wire sculpture by contemporary artist A.K Loedin, 2015.

These are all from a series dealing with transformation. It deals with global warming through the perception of an artist. The sculptures express hypothetical animal mutations (like in the Pleistocene age in animals that needed to transform to survive). For example, it is like a shell that mutates to become a Siamese twin during changes in global warming. This example in the work Kerang Kembar Siam (Siamese Twin Seashell).

Kerang Kembar Siam… Some animals can’t survive due to the changes in conditions.. and they don’t mutate but merge and fuse with a different organism to survive… this is my interpretive hypothesis. I am adding my interpretation to this in this form.
