Missing Home by Gede Juli, who is a self taught artist. Gede Juli has loved painting since he was a child. He became a tattoo artist. With deep sensitivity, his works delve into the subconscious. With intricate fusions of traditional Balinese Hindu concepts and personal narratives. The pointillist technique in his tattoo art led him to create works in the same technique with pen and paper.
The subject matter is one that explores the artists’ own deep yearning to return to a sense of wholeness. There has been times in Gede Julis’ life where he has felt estranged and without hope. This work is the visualisation of the journey home.
